1 John 2:14
14 I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

1 Timothy 4:12
12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

2 Timothy 2:2
2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

This two-year cohort training program is designed to train new leaders for NWCC from among those already showing a heart of service and a commitment to the church. Meeting biweekly, this cohort of young people will train on competency, convictions, and character.

  • Competency is skillfulness for work. Developing excellence requires a willingness for cohort participants to be corrected and criticized in order to improve. Areas of competency may be related to teaching, skillful personal interactions, presentation, and effective habits.
  • Conviction is theological knowledge, both practical and spiritual. The life of the mind must be developed and leaders must be grounded in the gospel and have a basic and growing grasp of Christian Theology.
  • Character is transformation of the heart and mind bearing out in sanctification. We address areas of sin and growth through prayer and accountability.

Our cohort pursues these core training aspects within the group times by Socratic discussions and follow-up on prior work. The cornerstone for the cohort is to develop and run an event or ministry at the end of the training.
