Pastor Paul Dirks
Lead Pastor
Pastor Paul Dirks is the Lead Pastor of New West Community Church, where he has served for fifteen years. He lives in the neighbourhood of Sapperton with his wife Rachel and his five children. He came to know Christ at a young age through the godly influence of his parents and thinks that such a conversion is as exciting as any. Paul has a big smile and a loud laugh. He enjoys board games and writing, having published two books and several articles. Paul has been involved in activism around sex-based rights, speaking regularly on the topics of gender and sexuality, and has helped found a Classical Christian school and liberal arts college. Pastor Niphon Triwiang
Associate Pastor of Thai Ministries
Pastor Niphon Triwiang is a lifelong student and learner. He and his wife Ratree moved from Thailand with their three children several years ago. He was born as a Buddhist and got saved when he was 20 years old. He went to Bible college in Bangkok and later served the Lord in many capacities including as a church planter, a foster parent in an orphanage home together with his wife, and a Bible school teacher. He likes reading and studying God's word, and is currently taking DMin studies at ACTS Seminaries. Among his many involvements, Niphon and his family run a Thai restaurant serving up some of the best Thai food in the Lower Mainland.
Pastor Kevin Narlin
Associate Pastor of Lao Ministries
Pastor Kevin Narlin resides in Surrey with his wife Kay and their two sons. His journey with Christ began in his late-20s, leading him to dedicate nine fulfilling years to serving at a Laotian Church in Surrey. Responding to God's call, he now faithfully serves as the Associate Pastor of Lao Ministries at New West Community Church, bringing energy and a kind heart to his ministry. Kevin's soft-spoken demeanor and warm smile reflect his genuine care for God's people. Outside of his pastoral duties, he cherishes moments spent with his family and finds solace in trail running.
Pastor Tim Carson
Associate Pastor of Discipleship
Pastor Tim is married to Marika. They have four adult children and one grandchild. Responding to God’s call on his life for ministry, Pastor Tim serves with a full and joy-filled heart in preaching, teaching, and discipleship. Having a heart for teaching and discipleship, Pastor Tim shares his vocational time between being an associate pastor, Dean of New Antioch Institute, and an educator in the secondary and post-secondary sectors. Life is an apprenticeship, and as such Pastor Tim believes that all of life is to grow in the Spirit, bring honour to King Jesus, to glorify God the Father, and to enjoy him forever.
Danilo Del Castillo
Elder
Danny Del Castillo lives in Surrey with his wife Remy. They have three sons and two grandchildren. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in 1986 while he was in the Philippines. His family immigrated to Canada in 2001. He coordinates a bi-weekly Bible study in the Surrey area and the Filipino Fellowship meeting on a quarterly basis. He has a passion to travel and enjoys it most when traveling together with his family.
Andrew Enduma
Elder
Andrew, a husband to Ana and father to three children, Ainah, Andrei and Aliyah, joined NWCC in 2014. He is blessed to have consecutively baptized all his children at the church. He is involved with the worship team and also co-leads a Young Couples Bible Study Group with his wife in Port Coquitlam. A Sales & Marketing professional in the Hospitality Industry for almost 3-decades now, he also serves part-time in a global Christian radio ministry. His faith journey began in 1994 during a Business Ethics class, where his professor shared the Gospel to him. He repented of sin and surrendered his life to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His life verse, Galatians 2:20, reflects his deep gratitude and awe of Jesus' sacrificial love for him.
Gideon Fung
Elder & Administrative Assistant
Gideon Fung immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in 1990. He was born and raised in a pastor's family and came to know Christ personally at a young age. He lives in Burnaby with his wife Suzanne and their three children. They started attending NWCC in 2022, and he now leads the youth ministry at NWCC. Gideon has a background in software development, and is currently studying theology and particularly enjoys learning biblical Greek. Besides spending time with his family, he also enjoys kayaking, table-tennis, ice-skating, and making music.
