Lead Pastor
Pastor Paul Dirks is the Lead Pastor of New West Community Church. He lives in the neighbourhood of Sapperton with his wife Rachel, and his five children. He came to know Christ at a young age through the godly influence of his parents and thinks that such a conversion is as exciting as any. Paul has a big smile and loud laugh. He enjoys basketball, board games, and electronic music. Paul loves preaching and teaching and enjoys books by John Piper, CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, and the Puritans. He has also been involved in activism around sex-based rights and trains regularly on the topics of gender and sexuality.
Pastor Niphon Triwiang

Pastor Niphon Triwiang

Associate Pastor of Thai Ministries
Pastor Niphon Triwiang is a lifelong student and learner. He and his wife Ratree moved from Thailand with their three children several years ago. He was born as a Buddhist and got saved when he was 20 years old. He went to Bible college in Bangkok and later served the Lord in many capacities including as a church planter, a foster parent in an orphanage home together with his wife, and a Bible school teacher. He likes reading and studying God's word, and is currently taking studies at Regent College. Among his many involvements, Niphon and his family run a Thai restaurant serving up some of the best Thai food in the Lower Mainland.
Pastor Kevin Narlin

Pastor Kevin Narlin

Associate Pastor of Lao Ministries
Pastor Kevin Narlin lives in Surrey with his wife Kay and their two sons. He gave his life to Christ in his mid 20’s and served at a Laotian Church in Surrey for 9 years. God called him to serve as Associate Pastor of Lao Ministries at New West Community Church and he does so faithfully with energy and a kind heart for God's people. Kevin is soft-spoken and likes to smile. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing volleyball and hockey, and trail running. Early in his Christian walk, Kevin received inspiration from John Piper and John MacArthur and is still being blessed by their works.
Ron Sowerby

Ron Sowerby

Elder
Ron Sowerby has attended NWCC for 75 years, came to faith in Christ at twelve years of age, and was baptized and joined membership in 1957. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC and has been a CPA, CA since 1969. During his career, he served as Vice President of Finance for TCG International for 37 years, and has served and is serving on several boards. He and his wife Lynne have been married for 51 years, and have three sons and three grandchildren. Ron has demonstrated a heart to serve wherever needed and has served as church Treasurer since 1992.
Danilo Del Castillo

Danilo Del Castillo

Elder
Danny Del Castillo lives in Surrey with his wife Remy. They have three sons and one granddaughter. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in 1986 while he was in the Philippines. His family immigrated to Canada in 2001. He coordinates the Men's Breakfast Fellowship every first Saturday of the month and the bi-weekly Bible study in the Surrey area. He also coordinates the Filipino Fellowship meeting on a quarterly basis. He has a passion to travel and enjoys it most when traveling together with his family.
Tim Carson

Tim Carson

Associate Pastor
Tim Carson is married to Marika. They have four children and a boxer named Hobbes. Tim and his family have been attending NWCC since 2012 and they love ministering with their church family. Tim has a heart for biblical leadership. He feels blessed to serve alongside his brothers and sisters on the leadership team as well as be one of the elders for New West Community Church. Tim also has a heart for adult discipleship and through that passion, leads a small group, teaches in the Workshop, and occasionally preaches when needed. He can also be found on some Sundays playing the drums.
Hannah Tin

Hannah Tin

Administrative Assistant
Hannah Tin joyfully married Caleb in 2015 and shortly thereafter, they found themselves at New West Community Church. She was blessed with the rich heritage of having God-fearing parents, came to know Jesus as Saviour and Lord during her childhood, and followed in her parents' footsteps of serving His body. Along with working in the church office, she enjoys being part of the Leadership Team, leading singing some Sundays, and hosting people in her home. Her love of others, music, and organized systems plays out in many ways at NWCC. Hannah is grateful that God has granted her the opportunity to live, work, and worship in the same city.
